    Hi there,

Can you tell me….or find out for me, if Mr. Sauer is actually designing and planning to build a wind-turbine-generator for installation into an electric vehicle?

If he is, do you realize what that will do for the EV industry?!?!

It will replace the internal combustion engine like that engine did to the horse & buggy!

The only hangup to the electric-car has been the need to “plug & recharge”…..if Mr. Sauer can put a wind-turbine inside an EV…..he will become as famous as Henry Ford was!!!

    Thank you,

    Larry Thompson

The idea of mounting a wind turbine on an electric vehicle is nonsense, in the same way as any other “perpetual motion” machine. If you mount a wind turbine on the roof of an electric car, and wire it up to recharge the battery as the car moves forward, a lot of wind will be hitting the turbine as the car moves through the air, and it will recharge the battery as you drive. But it will also add a lot of resistance to the motion of the car, and the electric motor will have to work a lot harder, drawing a lot more electrical energy from the battery. The net effect will be that the battery will drain even faster than before. The laws of thermodynamics demand that no perpetual motion machine can ever work.

I can think of one case where the turbine-on-the-roof idea might work. If there is a very strong tailwind, so strong that that the wind is moving faster than the car, even when the car is up to speed, the car might indeed get a boost from the wind. But so does a sailboat.

What you do is make arrays under the hood in wind channeled into the vehicle. There is a design you can use that allows the wind from driving to come in a channel then it is funneled out the turbine as fast or faster then it came in then on to another turbine until the entire array has been used then out the back as a type of wind exhaust. So, there you have it.

I believe that the CEO of Sauer Energy and his engineering staff are very aware of the adverse aerodynamic problems their wind turbine will cause if the turbine is not positioned on the vehicle in a location where drag resistance isn’t minimized.

I applaud Sauer Energy for their efforts and I hope that that patented inventions come into facilitation.

sir please help i in the same manner get to this idea of mounting a vawt turbine on scooter, the front of the scooter got directly hit by the air which can make the vawt turbine. its my college project for appropriate technology. please send me some designs of the VAWT blades and the generator required for it.

i will be very thankful to you if u help me sir.
